The Griswold Inn is the heart of Essex, Connecticut a charming little small town on the water.
The Gris is the oldest continuously operating inn in Connecticut and one of the oldest in America.
Even though I took a 50 mile detour to get here it was worth it. I ate lunch in the famous taproom (turkey club, what else?) and it was fabulous.
This little town is how I picture the fictitious Gilmore Girls town of Stars Hollow.
