New York City Revisited (#45)

New York City

I went to New York City with T3 over Christmas.  The plan was to see a few windows, visit FAO Schwartz, and, of course, visit the tree at Rockefeller Center.  Unfortunately we were there on what the locals were calling "gridlock weekend" meaning the last weekend before Christmas.  So, it was crowded ...  and COLD.  It actually wouldn't have been so cold, but the wind felt never ceasing, and that lowers the temperature at least twenty degrees.  We also had a navigation fail that had us feeling like the original pioneers.  Except that we didn't sing as we walked, and walked, and walked and walked.

So, we did some some cool windows during the walk, but I didn't pull out my camera until we hit Macy*s.

After Macy*s we headed to Dallas BBQ for dinner, and had what may have been the worst service ever, but despite that the food was delicious and the kids were super happy.  It was a great meal, and it was really nice to be able to sit somewhere warm and just talk and eat.

After dinner we trekked to Rockefeller Center, it was NUTS there.  You couldn't even move.  It reminded me actually of that penguin movie where they all very slowly, but surely move around in a circle from the outside to the inside.  Exactly like that.

On the whole, it was a good trip, and I'm really glad that I went and saw New York at Christmastime, but I do not feel the need to ever go again during December.
