Charles Bridge

Charles IV, king of Bohemia and Moravia and Holy Roman Emperor, was primarily responsible for Prague's current architectural beauty.  He commissioned the Charles Bridge in 1357 to connect Old Town and Mala Strana (Lesser Town).  Throughout the years has been decorated with 30 statues although today they are all replicas.

John of Nepomuk was very popular with poor people.  In the place where the saint was thrown into the river there's a sculptural cross on a marble plate, both with 5 stars.  If you lay your hands on the crosses with each finger touching one of the stars your secret wish will come true.
